Question #1 – There are several topics we want to touch on today, but first, from a clearly selfish motive, we read that for most of your University at Buffalo collegiate and immediate post-collegiate life you were interested in radio and television broadcasting. How strong was the pull of broadcasting back then, and how did you make the transition to marketing and PR in the jewelry trade? Timestamp: [3:46]
Question #2 – Early in your career you worked at the J. Walter Thompson ad agency on the De Beers account. Looking back on it now, you were working alongside some of the finest marketers, advertisers, and publicists on the planet. What were some of the campaigns you worked on during your tenure, and how did this experience shape your career? Timestamp: [10:01]
Question #3 – During your 10 plus years with the Julius Klein Group, you were the first female executive in the company’s sixty-five-year history and you built a modern, integrated global communications strategy literally from the ground up. What are some of the marketing questions an aspiring brand should ask itself before launching an extensive global campaign? Timestamp: [18:12]
Question #4 – Brandee, you served as president of the Women’s Jewelers Association for the past two years. How does the WJA help women in the jewelry and watch industries develop professionally, and, as more women ascend to true leadership roles in jewelry organizations, how does that change the jewelry trade as a whole? Timestamp: [23:13]
Question #5 – Let’s talk about “Fine Girl Luxury Brand Building & Communications” for a moment. Clearly, you’ve got a proven track record of success in the jewelry space, but what do you bring to a prospective jewelry client that is different from a traditional marketing firm, and why is that difference important? Timestamp: [29:35]
Question #6 – You’re an award-winning Enterprise Communications Executive. Still, why did you include the word, “Communication” into the title of your consulting firm? What’s the significance? Timestamp: [33:26]
Question #7 – One of the intriguing services you provide National and Global brands are what you’ve termed, 360-degree brand development. Can you share some specifics on this service and examples of it in practice? Timestamp: [35:07]
Question #8 – The term “Marketing” is both fluid in the definition and seemingly all-inclusive today. How can any jewelry brand know which platform or strategy they should use to convey their brand message? In your experience what works today? Is there a strategy that you could recommend for an emerging jewelry brand or service to get their message heard? Timestamp: [37:43]
Question #9 – We’ve covered a lot of ground today, but is there one question that I should have asked you, but didn’t? Timestamp: [39:40]
