What You Should Know About Laura Stanley
Stanley Jewelers Gemologist is celebrating its 78th year; Laura’s grandfather started the business as a watchmaker with a bench in a drugstore on Main Street in 1936.
Laura is a Graduate Gemologist, and also a Certified Gemologist Appraiser from the American Gem Society.
She earned an MBA in 2010 and has a B.S. Degree from Texas Christian University. Go Frogs!
Stanley’s has been a member of the American Gem Society for almost 50 years, and Laura is a member of the International Board of Directors, chairing the International Guilds Committee.
Laura is on the board of Jewelers for Children and has served on the Jewelers Vigilance Committee’s board in the past.
She’s on the Arkansas Better Business Bureau Board and volunteers locally for several animal rescue groups.
Laura spent a decade on the board of Court Appointed Special Advocates, and also more than a decade as an adult literacy tutor.
Stanley’s is very active in its local community, supporting almost every charitable cause around because when a client asks for support, the only answer is “yes.”
Laura was voted Arkansas Retailer of the Year in 2010.

American Gem Society -The American Gem Society is a trade association of retail jewelers, independent appraisers, suppliers, and selective industry members, which was founded in 1934 by Robert M. Shipley, who also founded the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Members are held to a high code of ethics with an emphasis on consumer protection and education.
The Society is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, along with the affiliated American Gem Society Laboratories (AGSL) (founded in 1996) and the American Gem Society Advanced Instruments Division (founded in 2004).
